Works

Please navigate through the tabs to see images of work that has been completed to date with a description of each block

Blocks 1 & 2 Activities

Block 1

In block 1 we have completed the construction of the basement and lower ground floor slab. We have constructed the Core for Block and tower one which will contain 3 lifts. The next process will be forming the columns from the lower ground floor level to ground floor which will be level with City Road. On the basement and lower ground floor the core is constructed using traditional formwork, however, from ground floor level upwards Expanded will be using a jump-form construction technique for the core. The benefits of doing this is that you can re-use the same formwork which has already been assembled to the dimensions of the core and therefore reduces the construction time.

Block 2

Block 2 is the most progressed block on the site. We are currently constructing level one of block 2 using a lattice plank system. The lattice planks are prefabricated off site and brought to site to be installed. The benefits of using this prefabricated system is the reduced construction time required to fix the steel bars. It also means that less concrete is required to pour the slab which reduces the amount of concrete wagons required.

Block 5 Progress

Block 5 is situated along Dingley Road. We are currently constructing the ground floor slab for block 5 and we are also constructing the central area slab which sits at level one. The central area at this level will be a landscaped garden area which sits above office space on the ground floor.

Blocks 8 & 9 Progress

Block 8 & 9 are situated along Macclesfield Road. We are currently constructing the ground floor level of both blocks. Block 9 at the top of Macclesfield Road will house the hotel and we will be constructing the frame and cladding with the internal fit out being done by another contractor of the hotels choice.
